Yesterday, SADC Bellechasse-Etchemins held its Annual General Meeting at the Salle Entrepôt du Ricaneux in Saint-Charles-de-Bellechasse, bringing together representatives from the business, municipal and socioeconomic communities of Bellechasse and Les Etchemins.
The event provided an opportunity to present the results and impacts of the 2025–2026 year, which was marked by a strong presence in the community, an increase in requests for business advisory services and the continuation of several strategic projects for the region.
Over the past year, the SADC authorized $1.249 million in loans to businesses in the region, supporting more than $8.8 million in projects and contributing to the creation and retention of 231 jobs. The organization also provided 884 hours of business advisory services and supported 64 businesses.
“Despite an economic environment that continues to evolve, entrepreneurs in Bellechasse and Les Etchemins continue to demonstrate a strong ability to adapt and a willingness to invest in the future. At the SADC, we remain committed to our close-to-the-community approach, providing personalized, accessible support tailored to local realities,” said Mélanie Carrier, President of SADC Bellechasse-Etchemins.
The 2025–2026 year was also marked by several initiatives aimed at strengthening the support provided to entrepreneurs and the SADC’s presence in the community. In particular, the organization continued to optimize its internal processes by implementing new digital tools to improve the efficiency of its follow-up activities and devote more time to providing support directly in the field.
The SADC also launched its new bilingual website, developed in compliance with the Official Languages Act and incorporating digital sobriety principles.
In addition to its work with businesses, the SADC continued its involvement in several local economic development projects, including Synergie Bellechasse-Etchemins, Agir collectivement dans Bellechasse, the Grande journée des petits entrepreneurs, as well as various training, networking and entrepreneurship support activities.
Participants also heard from Helsy Traiteur, whose representatives shared the company’s entrepreneurial journey and stages of development in an informal setting that encouraged discussion and exchange.
