Successful lunch conference on business transfers: a moment of exchange and inspiration for entrepreneurs

On Thursday, May 8, more than 40 entrepreneurs, business buyers, and economic partners gathered for a luncheon conference organized by SADC Bellechasse-Etchemins, in collaboration with Desjardins Entreprises and Développement Économique Bellechasse, at the Sainte-Claire Sports and Cultural Complex, to discuss a central theme: business transfer, a strategic issue for local economic sustainability.

Hosted by Alain Saint-Jacques, a business transfer coach at Desjardins, the conference highlighted the key steps to a successful transfer, the pitfalls to avoid, and the support mechanisms available to sellers and buyers.

Inspiring testimonials from entrepreneurs who have recently taken this step enriched the discussions, whether it was the journey of a father and son, Pierre and Louis Lachance of Industries Émile Lachance Ltée, who experienced a family business transfer, or the story of Dominique Tremblay’s acquisition of Produits métalliques Buissières.

“Business transfer is not just a financial transaction. It is a human, strategic, and often emotional process that deserves to be anticipated,” emphasized Alain Saint-Jacques of Desjardins.

The breakfast provided a friendly setting conducive to networking, encouraging encounters between economic players in the region. Several participants expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the discussions and guests, as well as the relevance of the information shared.
