A successful succession at Dépanneur Ste-Claire
Sainte-Claire, April 22, 2025
SADC Bellechasse-Etchemins is proud to announce its support for the next generation at Dépanneur Ste-Claire, located at 106 Boulevard Bégin. The business was recently acquired by Amjad Ben Salem with the help of $75,000 in financing from the SADC. This amount includes a $50,000 loan under the regular program and a $25,000 Stratégie Transfert loan.
This project marks a first for the SADC Bellechasse-Etchemins, as it is the very first project to benefit from the Stratégie Transfert program, a financial tool recently implemented to support business takeovers. This loan offers two years of interest-free financing to facilitate the transition period for new entrepreneurs.
Mr. Ben Salem has invested himself passionately in breathing new life into the convenience store. He has already begun to enhance the store’s offerings by adding new products, and an improved food section will soon be implemented.
Mr. Ben Salem is a fine example of successful integration in the region. A lifelong hard worker, he dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur while staying close to his family. “The SADC believed in my project from the very beginning and was an important financial partner. Now that the succession is official, I know I can count on my advisor, Mélise, to continue supporting me in my project,” says Mr. Ben Salem.
“Supporting succession projects is a priority for the SADC, as they ensure the continuity of local services in our communities. We are very proud to support an entrepreneur as committed and visionary as Mr. Ben Salem,” said Katie Fortier, Executive Director of the SADC Bellechasse-Etchemins.
