A Day of Sharing and Learning to Advance Local Entrepreneurship

The 8th edition of the Bellechasse-Etchemins Entrepreneurship Rendezvous brought together more than 80 people at Mont-Orignal on October 21.

The event was made possible through financial support from the Government of Quebec and Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions. The day provided participants with opportunities to develop their skills, share experiences and build new business connections.

Co-chaired by honorary co-chairs Marie-Christine Audet of Chaussures Orthèses Audet and Patrick Tremblay of IEL sous-traitance industrielle, the event highlighted two entrepreneurial journeys shaped by adaptability and perseverance. During a panel discussion, the honorary co-chairs openly shared lessons learned from their experiences. Their stories emphasized the importance of surrounding oneself with the right people, learning from others and viewing challenges as opportunities for growth.

The three workshops explored issues currently facing businesses, including employee engagement, customer service and digital transformation. Through this program, the organizing committee aimed to strike a balance between inspiration and practical learning, giving entrepreneurs the opportunity to discover new approaches and leave with concrete tools to help move their businesses forward.

The day concluded with a keynote presentation by Marie-Pierre Simard, founder of La Broche à foin, who captivated the audience with her humour, spontaneity and authenticity. Drawing on her personal and entrepreneurial journey, she explained how her philosophy inspired her to seize opportunities, turn bold ideas into reality and create experiences that bring people together. Her story also highlighted her resilience in the face of adversity and the lessons she learned along the way, particularly the importance of surrounding oneself with the right people, knowing when to delegate and building on one’s strengths.

Over its eight editions, the Bellechasse-Etchemins Entrepreneurship Rendezvous has helped strengthen connections within the business community and showcase the region’s entrepreneurial vitality.

The SADC Bellechasse-Etchemins coordinates the event in collaboration with the Direction générale de Services Québec des régions de la Capitale-Nationale et de la Chaudière-Appalaches, the Chambre de commerce Bellechasse-Etchemins, the Carrefour Employabilité – Travail de rue – Immigration de Bellechasse, CJE Etchemins, Développement économique Bellechasse and the MRC des Etchemins.
